Mills & Boon New Voices Contest

Every year, Romance publishing company Mills & Book holds the New Voices contest, for new writers to get the chance to get their writing known, win prizes, all that fun stuff. I was pointed to it yesterday by a good writing friend of mine who entered it last year, and within a few minutes I decided to give it a go and enter The Wolf in the Neighborhood. After getting it edited by another dear friend of mine, I hit "send" and waited nervously overnight to find out if my entry was approved. This morning, after a crappy couple of hours, I gathered the nerves to open the email and PHOENIX JOHNSON'S ENTRY HAS BEEN APPROVED!!
I am so incredibly excited! Please, if you're interested, go to the following link and support my entry by leaving a comment and a rating, help me get in to the top 20!

Thank you to everyone who shows their support!

Six Sentence Sunday #6

The time is just flying by now, aided by Six Sentence Sundays

This week I skip ahead in my newly titled WIP, The Wolf in the Neighborhood, Book One of the Wolf Smitten series.
Krissy and Derek are about to spend their first night together. I know, it's quick for them to get together so soon, but when you know, you know!

She lifted her face to look him in the eyes. It felt so cliché, like the romance movies her sister had made her watch growing up, but she didn’t want to ruin the moment by pulling away. It was clear Derek felt the same, as he slowly leaned in closer, asking with his eyes if she felt the same attraction. Krissy answered his unspoken question by pulling him closer and gently kissing his lips. It soon turned in to a hungry, passionate kiss, as their hands began to wander. She moaned in her throat as his hands sent shivers all over her hot skin.

Snippet of The Wolf in the Neighborhood, Book One of the Wolf Smitten series

Reaching up to run her hands through his hair, she smiled through heavy lids, feeling sleepy now she’d had her fun. A rumble in her stomach reminded her that neither of them had eaten lunch, so with a sigh, she sat up.
“While you were sleeping, I ducked down to the store and bought some ingredients; I thought we could make pizza for dinner, but I think it might just be welcome as lunch. Just let me have a quick shower, you’re free to join me, and then we can get to it.”
His own stomach growled in response so they both got up and she led the way to the shower. The hot water felt wonderful as it beat against her back, and Derek took it upon himself to lather up her front. She turned around, and as the water washed the soap away, he came in close; it seemed he hadn’t quite had his fill of her. Lifting her right leg so her foot rested on the side of the tub, she leaned back in to him. His left hand caressed her breasts as his right hand travelled down to stroke her clit once more.
Krissy was glad that she had a non-slip mat as Derek’s right foot joined hers, she felt him slide in once again and moaned. He gave her the loofa, before grabbing her hand and moving it down to rub it against her clit, providing a different texture and putting himself in control. The water sluiced over her hot skin as he gently thrust from behind; she’d always wanted to try shower sex, and finally a dream was coming true. She had thrills never before felt as water ran in rivulets between her breasts and he moved her hand with the sponge in slow circles, offering a new type of friction.
She thought that the hot ride only a few minutes ago had worn her out; she didn’t expect to be up for a second round so soon, but the wonders of  a new experience rapidly had her gasping for more and Derek took it as permission to start pumping faster. The soap gave him ease of movement and she relished the power he was able to put behind his thrusts. Krissy pushed back in to him, lifting her right leg higher; standing on tiptoes, she moved it over his, opening herself up even more to him. Her eyes closed, embracing the moment, she felt his left arm snake around her, letting her lean in to him further.
Moments later, as he started breathing harshly and thrusting faster, tingling started in her toes, swiftly moving up her legs and once again they both started moaning as waves of pleasure washed over them again; less intense than the first time, but they were still racked with a strong sense of satisfaction.
Derek took the loofa back, stepping away to get back to washing Krissy’s body, this time with slower, heavier strokes. The second orgasm had exhausted their sexual tension for now, so they focused on washing each other down. She turned to face him, washing the soap from her back, and leaned up to wrap her arms around his neck, planting a tender kiss, staking her claim gently this time. As he moved her damp hair away from her face, she studied his face; unless she’d seen it for herself, she never would have guessed that something dark lurked deep within this man.

Six Sentence Sunday #5

The weeks are flying by, and we're at the time: Six Sentence Sunday. Last week Krissy had just put her robe on after being sprung sunbathing nude on the rooftop by new neighbour, Derek...

He gave her a flash of a bright, earthy smile. There wasn’t an ounce of overconfidence in him, she could tell. Derek was comfortable seeing her naked, but wasn’t expecting anything to come of it. As much as she appreciated his apparent honor, Kristina thought to herself that she would definitely appreciate running her hands over that muscular torso underneath the tight shirt.
Her attraction must have been written across her face, as he started to blush in turn. Krissy shifted her weight, and brought her mind back to reality.

Six Sentence Sunday #4

Yet again it's that time of the week. It's time for introductions in this weeks Six Sentences.

Krissy quickly whipped the red satin gown around her body, and tied the sash before approaching the handsome stranger, hand out to introduce herself. “Hi, I’m Kristina, though I prefer Krissy. I live in 5A.”
He took her hand; she reveled in the warmth, and deceptive softness of his. “Derek, 5C. I guess I’m your new neighbor.”

Six Sentence Sunday #3

Yet another week has flown by, aided by it being a 4 day week here on the Gold Coast, as well as me returning to reviews. So here it is, my hot Six. Last week, we left the hunky stranger checking out the view. And what was the view? Read on...

Krissy couldn’t quite pick his accent; it seemed to flow between a Texan drawl, and a classy, clipped British brogue; a combination she did not expect to hear intermingled. It was very attractive, and she found herself wanting to know what kind of life brought two contrasting accents together. His muscular body only enhanced her growing attraction.
As he stepped towards her, waving the robe to catch her attention, she remembered that she was standing in front of a total stranger, wearing nothing but a smile, a tan, and a growing blush. Krissy noticed his eyes glance appreciatively at her ample breasts, flat, toned stomach and long lean legs as she stepped towards him and took her robe. They both fought to hide childish grins as they checked the other person out.
