Update Monday

Well due to my super distracted week last week, I was unable to book in a Promo Monday, so instead, today is UPDATE Monday!
Where to begin.. How about with why I was so distracted last week: We had the weekend (plus half the week) kid-free, so planned on doing a picnic lunch on Monday up in the mountains. Unfortunately, as we drove out of the parking lot after buying a picnic set and blanket, we got side swiped by a ute. Panel damage! So spent a lot of the week getting insurance quotes and getting the info off to the other guy's work insurance. Add to that viewing a house for when we move, AND two major essays for uni due, and I was super distracted! Had to get time extensions for both units, one until yesterday, the other for today (both were due Friday), but thankfully only needed a 1 day extension on one of them, and those units are now finished! On to the fun units as of today!
So what am I doing this study period? Introduction to Writing (I've peeked ahead at the essays, and I am so excited about them!) and Engaging Media (also excited, but not as much as my writing ones!!), for which I have set up a blog as part of the assessment. If you're interested in getting an idea of just what I am doing, then head on over to Engaging Media in SP3 2012. I know, not the most creative name, but you will start seeing creative ideas flowing as the unit progresses!
So for now, that is all. Hopefully back with Promo Mondays next week. Have a good one, everyone!

Promo Monday with Karenna Colcroft Dancing Away

This week I'm thrilled to welcome back Karenna Colcroft! This time she's talking about her soon-to-be-released Dancing Away, contest included! Be one of the first to get your hands on this new novella!

A Blast from the Past
Do you ever think about that special someone from your high school days? The one who made your heart skip a beat just by smiling at you? The one you hoped for a happily-ever-after with? Maybe you’re one of the fortunate few who found their true match in high school. Or maybe it took a little longer.
In my new M/M contemporary novella Dancing Away, Merit Hartwick wanted his special someone to be Cole Dellany. But Cole was a jock and hung out with the guys who bullied Merit mercilessly. Until the night of their senior prom, Cole never participated in the bullying. That night, though, he broke Merit’s heart.
A decade later, Cole returns to Merit’s life with two confessions: he’s gay and he wants Merit. Can a closeted former jock and a distrustful ballet dancer overcome past hurts and make a life together? Find out by reading Dancing Away, releasing August 16 from Pink Petal Books (http://pinkpetalbooks.com).
You can find out more about Karenna Colcroft and her books by visiting her website, www.karennacolcroft.com, or by joining her Facebook group, http://www.facebook.com/groups/261093317316839/.
Who was your high school “someone”? Tell me about him or her in the comments and you’ll be entered to win a PDF copy of Dancing Away. Contest will close Friday, August 17, at noon Eastern. (US Time)

Excerpt from Dancing Away:
He allowed Merit to move him, and they inched sideways without taking hands or lips off one
another until they bumped against the bed. Then Merit broke the kiss and, grinning, shoved Cole
onto the mattress.
Cole pinwheeled his arms, trying to keep his balance, but fell onto his back. He glared up at
Merit, who stood laughing. “You think that’s funny?”
“I think you’re exactly where I wanted you and this was the easiest way to get you there.”
Merit unfastened his slacks but didn’t remove them. “It’s sweet that you’re so shy with me.
Believe me, I understand. I don’t want to push this too far too fast either. But if we keep dancing
around each other, we’ll never get to what we really want.”
“I want to see you.” Cole propped himself on his elbows. “All of you. Please.”
“Only if you show me yours.”
Cole licked his lips, partly out of nerves and partly at the anticipation of tasting Merit once
they were both out of their clothes. He’d been startled at Merit’s sudden move, but he saw the
point. They’d been moving so slowly nothing would ever have happened.
“I’ll show you,” he promised.
“I know you will.”
Merit pushed his slacks and briefs to the floor and stepped out of them. Nude, he was
magnificent. His dancer’s body, accentuated by muscles, was in perfect proportion. His long

cock stood hard. And Merit obviously had no qualms about showing himself to Cole. He put his
hands on his hips and smiled down, standing as confidently as if he were fully clothed. “What do
you think?”
“I think you’re the hottest thing I’ve ever seen.” Cole slowly scanned the other man’s body,
desire rushing through him. This was the body he had touched. And would be touching again
very soon. The body that would be against his, under or on top, he didn’t know which and at that
moment didn’t care. All that mattered was that he and Merit would be together.
“Now it’s your turn,” Merit said.
Cole stood and removed his jeans and boxers. The moment he was naked, heat flooded his
face. Other men had seen him unclothed, but none had scrutinized him the way Merit was doing.
None of their gazes had been so tangible, like fingers running lightly over his skin. He was
suddenly shy again and battled the urge to cover his cock with his hands.
Merit kissed his shoulder. “I could look at you all day. You’re blushing, do you know that?”
“I know.”
“Why?” Merit traced a fingertip down the center of Cole’s torso, stopping just short of the
tip of his cock. “You aren’t ashamed to be here with me, are you?”
“Of course not.” Cole drew a shuddering breath, waiting to see where Merit would touch
him next. “I don’t know how to act with you.”
“You’re doing fine.” Merit moved his finger a tiny fraction closer to Cole’s cock. “Do you
want me to touch you, Cole? Do you want me to put my hand around your dick? Or would you
rather have my mouth? You want me to tell you what I like. Tell me what you like.”
“Everything.” The word erupted from Cole’s throat as desire roared into hunger. “Please,
god, I want everything with you. Everything we never dared to ask for from each other before.”

Cree Walker's Whisper on A Scream is FREE for THREE!!

FREE FOR THREE
AT

Whisper on a Scream
Synopsis
The werewolves are dying. Years of war between the Born werewolves and bitten, along with a lack of healthy bloodlines, has taken its toll on the race and if something isn’t done soon they will all be gone within the next fifty years. They are a strong breed, but have one major weakness that will probably end them all.
Werewolves – like their natural counterpart the wolves – breed for life; and if there is no mate, there is no life. A prolonged separation between mates can kill them more efficiently than any bullet ever could.
The Council are playing with fire when they use this very weakness against Sugar Lubec, the Born daughter of two bitten parents, to carry the offspring of Alpha Jack Coon. He is the leader of the largest werewolf pack in North America.
Ending the war between the two groups is the only thing that can save the werewolves and bring Jack and Sugar together. Can they do it before they end up paying the ultimate price for their long separation? Or will that price be the only thing that can end the war?

Excerpt
“Miss Lubec, though Alpha Coon's offer may be tempting, I must keep in mind the bloodlines from which you are descended. Your parents have killed off our race for over thirty years. They left you for dead and you were brought up by the human race. From looking through your records, I have come to the conclusion that you were raised to be a monster and you do it well. You showed signs of aggression at a very early age and showed no hesitation when it came to injuring people. Dangerous enough as a human woman, but a recipe for disaster as a werewolf because that is what you now are. As I see it, Miss Lubec, you are your mother's daughter right down to your good looks and quick wit.” Even though I knew nothing of my family, I now knew enough to know that this was a bad thing.
“But …” the second speaking member continued, “I am not the only member of this Council, and some feel you should be given a chance to thrive in a Pack-related environment, even if it is only an temporary experiment.”
The only person in the line up who looked at me was the woman on the end, Jack's relative. She was my saving grace, but she had a dangerous air about her. They say politics can corrupt an otherwise pure mind, and the longer you are exposed to them the worse it becomes – like standing next to a power plant and letting it turn your brain to cancer.
“Alpha Coon was right to offer the one thing we need, but I am denying you both that right. You will be allowed to live within the Pack for as long as you wish, but you will not be permitted to marry or have children within its ranks.” The woman at the end of the table flinched – as well as a woman of her age and condition could – but quickly covered it. I saw in that moment that she hadn't gotten the job for her lack of backbone or wit, and though she may have seemed decrepit, she was a force to be reckoned with. At the moment, I was just glad she seemed to be on my side.
Jack stood up, knocking his chair to the floor in his rush. “You're condemning her to death!” His features were twisted in hate and rage, as he pointed a finger towards the speaking elder.
I stood up and placed a hand on his extended arm lowering it gently. With it Jack's whole body sagged. It looked like my touch had the same affect on him as his did on me. A warrior's lace; the one thing that can soften a man of war is a woman's lace. A high school English teacher once told me why women like Lady Guinevere and Helen of Troy, though they were not the appointed leaders of their nations, could build them up according to the men they chose to love. The women could also be their death, depending on how the cards fell.
“No Mr. Coon, she will be permitted to marry outside the Pack if she chooses a human companion, but if you decide to once again ignore our commands, you will be punished with a death...hers.” The old man gave a confident nod of his head to signal the meeting's end and the group stood and filed out the way they came in, including the oldest woman, without a second glace in my direction.
Jack dropped his head into his hands when the room was empty. “They are testing my patience.” He voice made my lips curl into a frown. He sounded too confident for a man who feared this group so much.
I stood in back of his chair like a painted doll and stared at the clock...still ticking. Life goes on once again …

Whoops!

So for once Promo Monday wasn't booked, so I was intending to post an update on my self; writing, uni, heck even a little personal update as well! Of course, all these three got in the way of posting the update on Monday, so I'm here on Tuesday to finally post. So, I'll start with the writing update: to be honest, it has been neglected of late due to uni essays. However, going back to "old school" and hand writing some it while my man used the laptop (the desktop tower is waiting for a new HDD before it can come home, this time for good!) has kicked off a little writing burst that has now seen chapter 1 of Leader of The Pack (Wolf Smitten book 3) at 5000 words. Whoopsie! A little long, so have to try to split it in to 2 chapters in the coming days. Still waiting to hear back about my latest 2 submissions but NNP has been swamped with submissions lately, shows that they are doing something right! Still working slowly on my other WIP's as well, I haven't forgotten about any of my stories. As for study: really over the two units I'm currently doing, but only 2.5 weeks left. I have made a few friends though, mostly through Engaging in the Humanities. In fact, in joining a facebook group for one of my next units, one of the others requested I leave it so she could add me, as another admin had beat her to it by microseconds. Of course I obliged, gave me a great laugh. I'm highly looking forward to the creative units and extremely excited about starting my Japanese electives next year, since they need to be spread out. Ok so what else is there... Personal update, I believe. Well, photography, as you may know, is something I'm passionate about improving. There was a big full moon recently so we decided to drive out to The Spit to get some photos. Got out there, snapped a few shots on the beach then paid the fee to go on to the pier. Only to discover the camera battery was now on low: silly me had left it on over night. *Facepalm* Super slow shutter speed, which meant I was getting blurry images. There were some awesome effects in a couple photos, but overall just bad photos. I wasn't impressed. So now to wait until the next full moon. What else... Aaah yes. As you might also know, the man and I have a 3 year old. Makes nights out few and far between, and since she's well in to the trantrummy stage that is the toddler, we cringe at the thought of the three of us going out to dinner. Yesterday afternoon, the mister decided we'd go out to dinner, and I thought that it was worth a try. Once the kid was eating she should be fine. A few tantrums and a bit of misbehaving while we were getting ready, but then we were off. Our first choice was closed, decided second choice was a bit pricey, so ended up going to Fasta Pasta. Carb overload but oh so worth it! Beautiful focaccia, yummy chips and the pasta... Wow. He had Spaghetti Bolagnaise - the wine in it was nice. A bit heavy, but not overly so, with sweet fruity hints. Very yummy. My raviola fantasia was all of my favourites: ravioli, creamy sauce, mushrooms and bacon. I was in heaven! Add to that a jug of Lemon Lime and Bitters, and it was a beautiful dinner, followed by Cold Rock Ice-Cream, a rare treat! Cake batter ice-cream with cookie dough and a ferrero rocher was decadently delicious, though I almost stole the man's Banana ice cream with cookie dough and choc fudge brownie! Even the kid was good with her strawberry ice cream, very little spillage. Wow! Well that was a little more than I intended to share, but I promised an update so there you go! Oooh, though 1 last little thing. I'm not what you'd call a girly girl. I wear a bit of make up sometimes, I wear skirts and dresses only because I have them, and I don't fuss with my hair. I don't have a shoe fetish. Though I am slowly collecting them. Eeek! Last year for Christmas, I got a gift card from my Secret Santa (that's what my family does know to cut costs which is fine!) and I bought my first pair of ridiculous heels. 6 inch, strappy, very hot! Then for my birthday this year, my man bought me a gorgeous black pair I'd been eyeing off for years. A few weeks later, I found the cream pair for cheap. I'm very glad I got them now, as I haven't seen them displayed for a little while now. Anyway, we went out again this morning to get printer ink (turns out silly printer was just being fussy, cartridge was 3/4 full!) and I walked past an end-of-line "bin" of shoes. I saw red and literally "oooooh'd". Came home with my 4th pair of high heels. *Shaking my head* But they are sophisticated, not so flashy as my other 3 pairs. As you can see in the picture at the top. Aren't they purdy? Hahaha! Anyway I should sign off, I've blabbed enough, methinks! I mean I could keep going about weight loss (had a slip up but it's gradually going down! Wouldn't expect more due to thyroid issues), moving, whatever else but really I think enough is enough. Stay tuned for regular "programming" to resume next Monday, and I'll hopefully be able to give updates a bit more regularly than I have been! Thank you to all those who read my blogs, and don't forget to check out Postcards of Passion (A Naughty Nights Press anthology) and A Bride For Christmas (self-pubbed on Smashwords)! Both are free reads so go get your copy today!

Smart, sassy and sexy, Lucy gets his blood pumping in more ways than one. J.T. Seate - Campus Confidential

Ahhhh, the grand old days of college, when a spunky coed danced naked for ten college guys. Jack looks back on a vivid memory about carpeing more than the diem in this ribald confession. Kaye ‘Fluffy’ Wyatt was a godsend to the lads in the dormitory, especially considering they were all matriculating at a conservative bible college. When she was ready to be ridden, the horny lads quickly discovered what Fluffy was all about—more, more, and yet more rockin’ ‘n’ rollin’. But as with most good things, there was a catch. The casually mentioned fact that Fluffy was the dean’s daughter made genitalia shrivel and graduation a crap-shoot. The romp ends with bittersweet yet fond memories of a night in the life.
